SI Zoo Named Second Non-Profit Partner of Winter Wonderland SI
he Staten Island Zoo has been announced as the second recipient of Winter Wonderland Staten Island’s charitable giving program. 5 local non-profit groups will be selected, each receiving a portion of the admission proceeds from the Winter Wonderland SI event.
“A really important part of Winter Wonderland Staten Island is to create community and neighborhood traditions that will become staples of the holiday season on Staten Island. A great deal of my inspiration for creating this event, stems from my experiences volunteering at the Staten Island Zoo Spooktacular. That event has become such an institution on Staten Island that I wanted to create a similar attraction for the holiday season. This is a momentous event that is bringing Staten Island together as a whole for the holidays. I couldn’t be happier to partner with the Staten Island Zoo. They have a long-standing history within the community regarding education and family values and are a welcome addition to our roster of non-profits that will benefit from this event. ” – Roger Marin, founder of MRWW LLC.
“The Staten Island Zoo is privileged to have served as an foundation for Roger Marin’s initial Winter Wonderland creation. Roger was a valued and substantial volunteer at last year’s Zoo Spooktacular event. We are both proud and fortunate to have been selected to share in the proceeds Winter Wonderland SI will certainly generate.” – Ken Mitchell, Executive Director for Staten Island Zoo.
